If you thought smartphones were cool, check out Samsung’s smart appliances

There seems to be a trend going on this year at the annual CES conference: smart appliances, or rather, Wi-Fi-equipped washers and dryers that are able to be controlled via your smartphone— also known as the WF457 washer/dryer, and it’s just plain dreamy.

Moms: rejoice. ConsumerReports say these smart home appliances are nothing but time and energy-saving appliances that will “lighten your load,” so to speak. The washer and dryer features an 8-inch touch screen with various menus so you can customize your laundry load; with its SpeedSpray technology, you can expect shorter cycle times, too.

Samsung said in their press release that the SmartControl system, “allows consumers to stay connected to the washer cycle without having to remain close by the machine. Consumers can, via a wireless router and a smartphone application, monitor cycle selections, remaining time and finishing alerts, as well as remotely starting or pausing the washer – a huge benefit to busy moms who spend time running back and forth from the laundry room trying to estimate when the load is done.”
