When we take pictures with our phones, we don’t always use our brains. Admit it. You’ve been on vacation or gone somewhere and thought, “That’s pretty. Let’s take a picture.” You stick your phone out over the ledge of some high building or over the water, when suddenly you get that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach because you’re about to lose your phone to the black abyss.

BEEN THERE, PHOTOGRAPHED THAT

We’re not original. Our mother used to tell us that we were special and unique, but, when it comes to our Instagram pictures, she was wrong. Our Instagram account is not a special snowflake that is different from all the other Instagram snowflakes. Chances are our picture of the Statue of Liberty is near identical to someone else’s picture. Probably multiple someones. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Discuss.
